Hospital Introduces Advanced Treatments Including Laser Therapy, Angioplasty; Diabetic Foot Clinic Coming Soon
Dharwad: The Vascular Surgery Department at SDM Narayana Heart Centre in Dharwad has completed more than 250 successful procedures within a year of its launch, marking a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare services.
Addressing the media on Monday, Dr. Basavarajendra Anurshetru, Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, highlighted the department’s achievements in offering advanced treatment options, including both open surgical procedures and minimally invasive endovascular interventions. These services, he said, have eliminated the need for patients to travel to metro cities for specialized vascular care.
Over 100 Laser Treatments for Varicose Veins Completed
The department introduced Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) a year ago for the treatment of varicose veins, and has since completed more than 100 procedures. “EVLT has enabled us to treat patients with precision and minimal discomfort, offering quicker recovery times,” Dr. Anurshetru added.
Facility Director Shashikumar Pattanshetti noted that the incorporation of modern technologies has significantly improved patient outcomes and comfort levels.
Advanced Treatments for Vascular Conditions
In addition to EVLT, the hospital is offering Endovascular Angioplasty and Stenting for Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), among other cutting-edge vascular interventions.
Launch of Diabetic Foot Clinic Announced
The hospital also announced plans to launch a Diabetic Foot Clinic, aimed at the early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diabetic foot complications. “This sub-specialised clinic will be a comprehensive facility focused on limb preservation and improved quality of life for diabetic patients,” said Mr. Pattanshetti.
Also present at the press conference were Marketing Senior Manager Ajay Hulamani, Deputy Manager Dundesh Tadkod, and other staff members.
The expansion of these services further reinforces SDM Narayana Heart Centre’s commitment to providing advanced, accessible healthcare to the people of North Karnataka.
