Jaipur: In a major crackdown, the Rajasthan Crime Branch, in collaboration with Kotputli Police, has arrested two persons, including a doctor, and seized nearly 29.4 kg of narcotic capsules and syrups, according to a PTI report.
Huge Stock Recovered from Shop and Clinic
The seized stock included capsules like Proxyco-SPAS, Proxiohm-SPAS, Symdex-Plus, Proximex-SPAS, Anrex, and Antop syrup.
Police first raided a grocery shop near the blacksmith camp in Transport Nagar, Kotputli, run by Manoj Kumar Jat (35). From his shop and adjoining warehouse, the team recovered 48,576 capsules.
Drug Control Officers Mukesh Chaudhary and Lata Bharti were present during the seizure.
Doctor Linked to Consignment
On interrogation, Manoj revealed the consignment belonged to Dr Avinash Sharma (39), who runs a clinic on the highway. A raid at his clinic led to the recovery of 1,240 capsules and 14 syrup bottles.
In total, 49,816 capsules and 14 syrups weighing 29.389 kg were seized.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
Both accused have been booked under Sections 8/21 and 8/22 of the NDPS Act, while Dr Sharma also faces charges under Section 8/29 for supplying narcotics. The seized material has been sealed and deposited in the maalkhana.
Wider Network Under Probe
Officials believe the arrests may help expose a larger illegal drug trafficking network in the state.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of ADG Crime Dinesh MN, DIG Deepak Bhargava, and ASP Siddhant Sharma. Inspector Ram Singh Nathawat led the team, with key support from SHO Rajesh Kumar Sharma and personnel of DST Kotputli-Baharod.
