In a heartfelt tribute to India’s most iconic musical duo, the Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation has announced that its upcoming hospital project in Pune will now be named the ‘Lata-Asha Mangeshkar Institute of Medical Sciences’.
Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle
The decision comes in the wake of the passing of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle. The foundation stated that renaming the institute is a tribute to both sisters, whose contributions to Indian music remain unparalleled.
Foundation Event to Include Condolence Meet
Following Bhosle’s demise, the foundation has revised its event schedule. Alongside the foundation stone laying ceremony, a condolence meeting will also be आयोजित in her memory. The event is set to take place on April 16 at Nandoshi, Pune.
Top Dignitaries to Attend the Ceremony
The event will be attended by prominent leaders including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar.
The programme will be presided over by Mohan Bhagwat, with members of the Mangeshkar and Bhosle families also expected to attend.
1000-Bed Super-Speciality Hospital Project
The ambitious project, located in Nandoshi near Sinhagad Road, aims to establish a 1000-bed super-speciality hospital—one of the largest in Asia. During the event, a formal resolution for setting up the institute will be announced, along with a tribute to Asha Bhosle.
Blending Healthcare with Cultural Legacy
