PG Medical Centre with 50 Seats to Come Up in Husnabad: Telangana Health Minister250-bed hospital infrastructure inaugurated; move to boost regional healthcare and medical education

Siddipet: In a major healthcare and education push for Telangana, Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha on Friday announced the establishment of a Postgraduate (PG) Medical Centre in Husnabad, which will offer 50 PG medical seats starting from the next academic year.

The announcement was made during the Minister’s visit to Husnabad, where he inaugurated a 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital and laid the foundation stone for a 150-bed general hospital—together adding a 250-bed capacity to the town’s healthcare infrastructure. The Minister was accompanied by fellow cabinet members Ponnam Prabhakar, Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

“Once a modest 50-bed hospital, Husnabad is now on its way to becoming a regional healthcare hub,” Rajanarasimha said, highlighting that the new multi-speciality infrastructure meets all prerequisites for setting up a PG medical education facility.

Speaking at a public meeting, the Minister said the state government had already established eight new medical colleges and 16 nursing colleges and assured that more institutions would be announced in the coming weeks.

To ensure balanced regional development, the PG Medical Centre was granted to Husnabad, while Siddipet, Jagtial, and Karimnagar already host medical colleges, he added.

The announcement comes amid a broader healthcare expansion drive by the Telangana government. Recently, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for a 2,000-bed Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad, and a 300-bed Medicover Hospital was inaugurated in Warangal.

These efforts are part of the state’s ongoing commitment to enhance access to quality medical care and advanced medical education across Telangana.
