Amaravati: Praja Arogya Vedika (PAV), an affiliate of Jan Swasthya Abhiyan, has urged Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda to sanction funds for establishing a super-specialty cancer hospital and research centre in Andhra Pradesh.
In a letter to the Union Health Minister on Tuesday, PAV general secretary T. Kameswar Rao and president M.V. Ramanaiah highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has been facing a severe shortage of specialised cancer care facilities since the 2014 bifurcation.
Despite repeated appeals, the Andhra Pradesh government has been unable to set up a dedicated cancer institute due to financial constraints, leaving many patients without affordable and specialised treatment. PAV has now sought central intervention to address this growing healthcare challenge.
