New Delhi: Lok Sabha Member C. Robert Bruce recently raised a query in Parliament seeking information about Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) hospitals and colleges in Tamil Nadu. He also requested details on funds allocated, disbursed, and utilized for the renovation and upgradation of these facilities, along with a district-wise list of proposed AYUSH hospitals in the state.
Responding to the question, Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State for AYUSH, informed that Tamil Nadu currently has 35 AYUSH hospitals and seven government colleges. Under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), the state government has been allocated ₹699.40 lakh for renovating and upgrading 17 AYUSH hospitals and ₹590.64 lakh for six AYUSH colleges.
Additionally, proposals from the Tamil Nadu government have led to the approval of five integrated AYUSH hospitals in Theni, Thiruvannamalai, Pudukottai, Namakkal, and Chennai, as well as AYUSH educational institutions in Palani and Dindigul districts.
