A shocking case from Ooty has come to light where a medical college student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a government doctor who promised to help her pass her examinations. The accused has been arrested by the all-women police team, triggering outrage and serious concerns about abuse of authority in medical institutions.


Doctor Promised Exam Assistance, Lured Student to Hotel

According to reports, the accused was working in the emergency ward of Nilgiris Government Medical College and Hospital. He allegedly approached the student claiming he had influence over university authorities and could ensure she cleared her exams.

On this pretext, he reportedly convinced the student to meet him at a private hotel. Investigators revealed that the doctor allegedly gave her alcohol and later sexually assaulted her while she was under its influence.


Incident Exposed After Hotel Staff Intervened

The crime came to light following a heated argument between the accused and the student inside the hotel room. The commotion alerted hotel staff, who immediately intervened and informed the police.

Acting swiftly, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused doctor. Preliminary investigations have confirmed allegations of rape, and further legal proceedings are underway.


Accused Also Allegedly Recorded the Act

Investigators stated that the doctor is also accused of recording the assault on his mobile phone, raising further concerns about exploitation and blackmail.

During the inquiry, it was also revealed that the accused had been married twice, though neither of his wives currently lives with him.


Police Probe Expands, More Victims Suspected

Authorities have registered a case against the doctor and are now investigating whether he used similar tactics to target other students. Officials are examining his past conduct and digital evidence to uncover any additional victims.
