Puducherry : An on-duty pediatrician associated with JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research) was verbally abused and physically assaulted by the attendants of a child who was treating the child who was critically ill as the child had respiratory arrest. The attendants who were from a political party created ruckus in the hospital though the child condition was stabilized by the effort of the pediatrician. The police has registered a case under sections 294(b), 332 and 506 of the IPC against unknown assailants.
