Four Detained After Fatal Family Clash in Kendrapara Village Following Argument Over Ancestral Property Renovation
In a shocking incident from Odisha, a homoeopathic doctor was allegedly beaten to death by his elder brother following a dispute over renovation work at their ancestral house in Kendrapara district on Thursday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Baradanga Nauri Sahi village under the jurisdiction of Mahakalapada police station. The deceased was a practising homoeopathic doctor, while his elder brother has been identified as the prime accused in the case.
The dispute reportedly began after the doctor initiated renovation work at the ancestral property. The accused allegedly objected to the construction activity, leading to a heated argument between the two brothers. What started as a verbal confrontation soon escalated into a violent physical clash inside the house.
According to local residents, the accused allegedly attacked the doctor during the altercation and strangled him. Family members of the accused are also alleged to have joined in the assault. Witnesses claimed the victim was repeatedly punched, while the attackers allegedly pressed his neck and jumped on his chest as he lay helpless on the ground.
Locals said the assault continued for several minutes before the doctor lost consciousness. Family members and villagers later rushed him to the Mahakalapada Community Health Centre for emergency treatment.
Doctor Declared Dead at District Hospital
Due to the critical nature of his injuries, doctors at the community health centre referred him to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital. However, medical officials reportedly declared him dead on arrival.
The incident triggered tension across the village as news of the doctor’s death spread rapidly. Several residents gathered near the family residence, and police were deployed in the area to prevent any further unrest.
Police Detain Four, Investigation Underway
After receiving information about the incident, police officials reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the alleged murder.
Four persons, including the elder brother identified as the prime accused, have reportedly been detained for questioning in connection with the case.
Police officials stated that the investigation is currently underway to determine the exact sequence of events and identify the role of each individual allegedly involved in the fatal assault.
