New Delhi: The uncertainty surrounding NEET PG 2025 counselling intensified after the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) briefly displayed a notification announcing a 2–3 day extension for Round 1 choice filling—only to remove it shortly afterward, triggering widespread concern and frustration among aspirants.
Screenshots of the notification circulated rapidly across social media, with candidates expressing disappointment over yet another unexpected delay in the counselling process. The notice, however, was soon withdrawn, and the MCC has now clarified that candidates must rely solely on the revised counselling schedule uploaded on the official website.
In its updated message, MCC stated:
“The revised PG schedule has been uploaded on the MCC PG website. Candidates are advised to check the updated schedule.”
Revised Schedule Remains Unchanged
As per the counselling timetable released on 16 November 2025,
- Round 1 choice filling and locking is scheduled to end on 18 November 2025.
- Seat allotment process will take place from 19 November.
- Results will be declared on 21 November 2025.
- Candidates allotted seats must report between 21–27 November, followed by verification from 28–30 November.
The briefly displayed extension notice has raised concerns that further delays may still be imminent.
Doctors and Aspirants Slam Uncertainty, Delays
The sudden confusion sparked strong reactions across social media platform X.
Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan called the move “Unacceptable!” and added:
“Delaying NEET PG counselling is damaging the future of healthcare. Our doctors deserve better.”
Speaking to Medical Dialogues, Dr. Khan, National Executive of FAIMA, said the repeated delays have deeply affected young doctors:
“Their careers, mental well-being, and training are all on hold. We urge the authorities to resolve this immediately.”
He further warned that the withdrawn notice could indicate “a much longer delay.”
Dr. Aman Maurya criticized the recurring postponements, posting:
“NEET PG counselling & delays — the never-ending love story. And right on cue: ‘CHOICE FILLING HAS BEEN EXTENDED’… again.”
Dr. Sumit K questioned the functioning of regulatory bodies, writing:
“NMC has turned counselling into a mockery… only 2 out of 24 members are working.”
FAIMA Warns of ‘Strong Measures’ If Delays Continue
Earlier, FAIMA Chief Patron Dr. Rohan Krishnan demanded that Round 1 results be released no later than 21 November, warning that further silence from authorities would result in “Strong Measures.”
After MCC released the revised schedule, Dr. Krishnan expressed cautious optimism:
“I sincerely hope there will be no more delay. All the best to the aspirants.”
Speaking to Ani about the possibility of fresh postponements, he said,
“I sincerely hope authorities will stick to the schedule. Young doctors are suffering immensely due to the continuous delay.”
