New Delhi: The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has facilitated the creation of nearly 74 crore health records, with 49.06 crore health records already linked to the Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA), Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav informed the Rajya Sabha.

In a written reply, Jadhav stated that as of February 6:

  • 3.63 lakh health facilities have been registered on the Health Facility Registry (HFR).
  • 5.64 lakh healthcare professionals are enlisted on the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR).

Interoperability & Digital Health Records

The ABDM aims to enhance health data interoperability, ensuring electronic health records (EHRs) are accessible across the healthcare ecosystem. The mission includes:

  • ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) for digital health records.
  • HPR (Healthcare Professional Registry) for verified medical practitioners.
  • HFR (Health Facility Registry) for hospitals and clinics.
  • Drug Registry for standardizing medicine data.

Ensuring Inclusive Healthcare Access

Jadhav emphasized that ABDM supports seamless healthcare continuity at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, particularly benefiting rural and remote areas through telemedicine and other digital health interventions.

To improve accessibility:

  • The ABHA portal (abha.abdm.gov.in), ABHA app, and Aarogya Setu app have been made multi-lingual and user-friendly to bridge digital literacy gaps.
  • ABDM offers assisted and offline modes for creating ABHA IDs, addressing connectivity and hardware limitations in underserved regions.

The initiative is a significant step toward digitizing India’s healthcare system, ensuring universal access to medical records and better healthcare delivery.
