A major recognition for Indian knowledge traditions on the global stage, Mysuru-based yoga expert Dr. K. Raghavendra Pai has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Vyasa Bharati Triyoga University (VBTU) in the United States.

Vyasa Bharati Triyoga University, a US-based institution, focuses on integrating ancient Indian wisdom with modern education. The university operates within the global VYASA/Yoga Bharati network and emphasizes yoga, philosophy, and Bharatiya knowledge systems.
From Karkala to Global Academic Leadership
Originally hailing from Karkala, Dr. Pai has earned widespread recognition for promoting Sanatana Dharma, yoga, and Vedic traditions. Over the years, he has played a key role in spreading structured education rooted in Indian heritage.
Key Contributions in Yoga Education and Policy
Dr. Pai previously served as the Yoga Director of the SDM Yoga and Moral Education Project at Dharmasthala, where he contributed to value-based education initiatives.
He is currently a member of the Yoga Certification Board under the Ministry of AYUSH and has also contributed to curriculum development as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) syllabus committee.
Academic Excellence and Mentorship
Dr. Pai served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Mysore, where he was associated with the Swami Vivekananda Study Chair in the Department of Philosophy. During his tenure, 13 scholars completed their PhDs under his mentorship, reflecting his strong academic leadership.
Founder, Researcher, and Yoga Innovator
He is the founder of Sri Vedavyasa Yoga Pratisthana in Mysuru, where he continues research and training in yoga and Dasa Sahitya.
Dr. Pai is also known for developing the concept of “Yogic Walk – Gamana Yoga Sutras” and has contributed to scholarly works such as Gamana Yoga Sutras and Yoga Vishwakosha.
