
Mumbai– In a compassionate gesture amid national mourning, Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai has announced free medical treatment for individuals injured in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and for those who have lost family members in the incident.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon in a meadow near Pahalgam in Anantnag district, claimed 26 lives, primarily tourists, and left several others wounded after terrorists opened fire indiscriminately.
In an official statement, Rajesh Mehta, Permanent Trustee of Lilavati Hospital, said:
“We at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre are deeply shocked and saddened by the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. On behalf of our entire board, under the guidance of Charuben Mehta (Founder, Permanent Trustee for Life), I extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.”
Expressing solidarity with the Indian Army and the Government of India, Mehta emphasized that the hospital stands united with the nation in its grief.
“As part of our commitment to serve humanity, we are offering free medical treatment to those injured in this attack and to individuals who have lost a family member,” he added.
The hospital urged those in need of medical care and emotional support following the attack to reach out immediately for assistance.
The move has drawn widespread appreciation, with many lauding the hospital for stepping forward in a time of national tragedy.
