The Ministry of Ayush will organize a two-day Departmental Summit on the theme “National Ayush Mission and Capacity Building in States” on 3rd–4th September 2025 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi. The event will be chaired by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush and MoS for Health & Family Welfare.
Focus on State-Level Inputs
The summit aims to deliberate on State-Specific and Feedback Notes received from States/UTs, including grassroots-level inputs. This participatory approach is expected to strengthen and expand the National Ayush Mission (NAM), which promotes Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa, and Homoeopathy.
Part of Thematic Summits Series
This is the final summit in a series of six thematic events directed by the Prime Minister at the 4th Chief Secretaries’ Conference in 2025. The summits involve officers from the Centre, States, and UTs, with active participation from senior and junior officials to boost capacity building.
NITI Aayog’s Role
NITI Aayog identified six thematic areas, with the Ministry of Ayush designated as the nodal body for this final summit. Preparatory activities included orientation sessions and circulation of a Concept Note (6th May 2025).

Six sub-groups of States/UTs have been formed to enable focused dialogue:

- Quality Services & Infrastructure: Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tripura, Manipur. (Nodal: UP, Himachal Pradesh)
- Ayush Medicine Quality & Procurement: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Puducherry, Assam. (Nodal: Karnataka, Assam)

Participation and Experts
The summit will see participation from senior officials including Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Director Generals, Mission Directors, and Commissioners of Ayush.
Eminent experts such as Dr. V.K. Paul (NITI Aayog), J L N Shastri, Dr. V.M. Katoch, and Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan will contribute to panel discussions.
Strengthening India’s Healthcare Architecture
The summit underscores the government’s resolve to mainstream Ayush systems into India’s healthcare framework, focusing on accessibility, quality, and efficiency. By emphasizing capacity building in States and UTs, the initiative seeks to unlock the full potential of the National Ayush Mission.
