DHOLPUR — A comprehensive administrative and criminal inquiry has been initiated against a medical practitioner previously blacklisted in Uttar Pradesh, following the tragic death of a 28-year-old woman at an unregistered private clinical facility. The incident has triggered widespread public outrage and intense local protests, exposing severe lapses in regional healthcare monitoring and the dangerous operation of unauthorized medical establishments.
According to official medical reports, the victim, identified as Anguri, was admitted to the private medical facility to undergo an emergency Caesarean section delivery. While the surgical procedure was initially successful on Friday night, resulting in the birth of a healthy infant, the patient’s physiological vitals began to plummet rapidly early the following morning. Family members alleged that despite her visibly worsening condition, the hospital administration and on-duty staff completely failed to provide necessary, timely corrective treatment or diagnostic interventions. She ultimately succumbed to her complications on Saturday morning, sparking immediate anger among her relatives.
As emotional protests by grieving family members intensified outside the hospital premises, heavy law enforcement teams from the Kotwali police station rushed to the spot to defuse the escalating tension. Police officials managed to pacify the agitated relatives, securing the area before shifting the woman’s body to the district mortuary for a mandatory post-mortem examination.
The gravity of the incident prompted an immediate joint intervention by top administrative and medical authorities. District Collector Shrinidhi BT personally visited the medical facility to assess the situation firsthand and interacted directly with other patients admitted at the clinic. Concurrently, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Dharamsingh Meena launched a swift medical inquiry into the operational history of the clinic and the clinical cause of death.
The preliminary findings of the CMHO’s inquiry revealed shocking professional negligence and systemic illegality. Dr Meena confirmed that the deceased patient was suffering from extremely low haemoglobin levels following childbirth. To combat this, the treating team administered a blood transfusion. However, the investigation established that the crucial blood transfusion was performed improperly, signaling acute clinical malpractice and direct negligence on the part of the operating physician.
Most notably, the official inquiry exposed that the entire medical facility was completely unregistered and operating outside the bounds of the law. Furthermore, a deep background check revealed that an active First Information Report (FIR) had already been registered against this very same facility at the Nihalganj police station in connection with a separate illegal medical case earlier. The primary doctor operating the clinic had previously been officially blacklisted by medical authorities in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh for separate instances of professional misconduct.
In response to the fatal discovery, administrative authorities ordered the immediate evacuation of the illicit facility. Three other postpartum women who were admitted to the clinic were swiftly transferred via emergency services to the government district hospital to guarantee their safety and proper care. Following the completion of the post-mortem examination, the victim’s body was handed back to her family for final rites. The Kotwali police have registered a fresh criminal case and are aggressively investigating the depth of the illegal network, while health department officials vow to shut down similar unlicenced clinics operating in the border region.
