Landmark recognition fulfills late Acharya Kishor Kunal’s vision for quality healthcare
Patna: Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital has achieved a significant milestone by receiving accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), making it the first charitable hospital in North India to earn this prestigious recognition. The announcement was confirmed via official email on Monday.
The accreditation comes after a rigorous inspection conducted by a statutory team under the Union Government in December 2024. The assessment evaluated various parameters, including the hospital’s infrastructure, patient care standards, cleanliness, safety protocols, quality of medical staff, and availability of advanced medical equipment.
Dedicated to Child Healthcare
The 200-bed hospital, which caters primarily to children, handles an outpatient load of 400 to 500 patients daily. It offers services in cardiac surgery, general medicine, and orthopaedics, among others, and has grown to become a key player in the healthcare landscape of Bihar.
Tribute to Acharya Kishor Kunal
Dr Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, Director of Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital, expressed gratitude to Acharya Kishor Kunal, acknowledging his enduring contributions to the health sector and vision for accessible, high-quality medical care. “It is because of his tireless service and leadership that we have reached this milestone,” said Dr Prasad.
Justice P.K. Sinha, Chairman of the hospital’s governing body, also lauded the achievement. “This was Acharya Kishor Kunal’s dream. The NABH team visited just a day before his passing, and today, his dream has been realized,” he said, praising the commitment of the hospital’s medical and administrative teams.
The NABH accreditation is a benchmark for excellence in healthcare delivery and underscores the hospital’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of treatment and patient safety.
