Mumbai : Government of Maharashtra has decided to offer expensive IVF treatment at Government hospitals absolutely Free. This initiative will help to address fertility concern for un-affording couples especially in Rural Maharashtra. The data of the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) indicates a worrisome decline in the fertility rate in Maharashtra. The civic run hospital in Mumbai are already offering free IVF treatment and the response is extremely positive.
To start with the State Government has decided to start the free IVF treatment available at state run eight medical colleges. A budget of Rs. 64 crore has been allotted to the colleges for setting up the infrastructure in these colleges.
