Thiruvananthapuram: A female doctor was attacked with scissors, and a community health center was vandalized by two men in Kerala on Monday night. The Pangod police swiftly arrested the accused, identified as Arun (35) and Shyam Nair (43).
Incident Details
- The attack took place around 11:35 PM when Arun arrived at the health center for treatment of a head injury.
- The doctor on duty asked him to obtain an OP (Outpatient) ticket, following standard hospital procedures.
- This angered Arun, who verbally abused and threatened the doctor.
- While nurses and the doctor were treating his wound, Shyam Nair forcibly entered the room and started recording a video.
- When the hospital staff objected, both men began abusing the doctor and nurses.
- Arun then went into the injection room, picked up a pair of scissors, and tried to stab the doctor.
- The accused also damaged hospital supplies, including medicines.
Police Action
The hospital staff alerted the Pangod police, who arrived promptly and arrested the accused. A case was registered, and both suspects were produced in court and remanded.
