Jaipur : After nearly three months of confusion, a clerical error in a government transfer order has finally been rectified. The Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) of Sawai Madhopur, Dr Anil Kumar Jaimani, confirmed on Monday that he had received the official correction letter resolving the mix-up.
The issue dates back to January 15, when the health department’s non-gazetted section issued a transfer list meant for nursing officers. In a surprising error, the 12th name on the list was that of Dr Ranjana Naraniya, a Senior Medical Officer currently posted at the Bonli Community Health Centre in Sawai Madhopur. The order mistakenly designated her as a nursing officer and instructed her to take charge at Umaid Hospital in Jodhpur.
Despite the transfer error being flagged earlier and covered in the media—including a report in The Times of India on April 14—the correction had not reached the concerned officials until now.
According to Dr Ravi Prakash Sharma, Director (Public Health), the correction order was actually issued on March 4, but it appears there was a delay in communication to the district office.
The incident highlights continued issues with bureaucratic oversight and underscores the need for more efficient internal communication within the health department.
