$3 Million Investment to Support Advanced Wound Treatment and AI-Powered Continuity Care

India is set to establish a nationwide network of specialised wound-care Centres of Excellence over the next two to three years to address the growing burden of diabetes-related and chronic non-healing wounds. The initiative is being launched under the Wound Heal Plus programme of IHLD MedTech, which has secured an initial investment of $3 million from Singapore-listed UltraGreen.ai, with the potential for total funding to reach $12 million based on agreed milestones.

The investment will be used to expand IHLD MedTech’s Wound Heal Plus and iLiveConnect platforms, both aimed at improving patient outcomes through technology-enabled healthcare delivery.

Integrated Wound Care Services Under One Roof

According to IHLD MedTech, the proposed Centres of Excellence will provide comprehensive wound-care services, including screening, advanced imaging, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and long-term monitoring. The centres are designed to address a major healthcare gap by bringing together multiple specialties involved in wound management under a single platform.

The multidisciplinary care model will involve vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons, podiatrists, orthotists, nutritionists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists to ensure holistic treatment for patients suffering from chronic wounds.

AI-Enabled Healthcare Beyond Hospitals

A significant portion of the investment will support the expansion of iLiveConnect, a doctor-led, AI-enabled continuity-care platform developed to extend healthcare services beyond hospital settings.

The platform integrates wearable biosensors, predictive analytics and physician oversight to monitor patients remotely, identify early signs of health deterioration and facilitate timely medical intervention.

Dr Rahul Chandola, Founder and Managing Director of IHLD MedTech, said wound care remains one of the most neglected areas of healthcare globally, despite affecting millions of patients.

“There are very few facilities that bring together all aspects of wound diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation under one roof. Our centres aim to fill that gap while ensuring that patients continue to receive expert care through digital monitoring and ongoing clinical support,” he said.

Advanced Imaging Technology to Improve Treatment Outcomes

One of the key features of the Wound Heal Plus programme is the use of advanced fluorescence imaging technology that enables clinicians to assess blood flow and tissue perfusion in wounds.

The imaging data is analysed through WoundLinks, a software platform developed in collaboration with UltraGreen.ai. The platform helps physicians identify poorly perfused tissue and make more accurate treatment decisions, potentially improving healing outcomes and reducing complications.

Addressing the Growing Challenge of Diabetic Foot Ulcers

India continues to face a significant burden of diabetes, with millions of patients at risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers due to complications such as neuropathy and poor circulation.

Dr Chandola noted that chronic wounds severely impact patients’ quality of life and, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications, including amputations. He emphasized that early diagnosis, specialised treatment and continuous monitoring are critical to improving outcomes.

Expansion Plans Across India and Global Markets

Following treatment and discharge, patients will continue receiving care through iLiveConnect and mobile wound-care clinics, allowing specialists to monitor healing progress and intervene when necessary.

IHLD MedTech plans to establish multiple Centres of Excellence across India over the next two to three years before expanding the model internationally. The company is also exploring opportunities to scale iLiveConnect in the Middle East, Europe and North America.

Ravinder Sajwan, CEO of UltraGreen.ai, said the future of healthcare lies at the intersection of advanced technology, clinical intelligence and continuous patient engagement. He added that the partnership with IHLD MedTech aims to improve patient outcomes through innovative and scalable healthcare solutions.
