Woman allegedly attacked hospital staff after doctors informed her condition was not serious; police say dispute may involve business partnership
A woman allegedly assaulted doctors and medical staff at a private hospital in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar after being informed that her medical condition was not serious following a clinical examination. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, June 27, has sparked fresh concerns over the rising incidents of violence against healthcare professionals.
According to reports, the incident took place at Shreshta Orange Hospital in LB Nagar at around 2:00 pm. The woman had reportedly visited the hospital complaining of severe stomach pain and sought medical evaluation.
Altercation Broke Out After Medical Examination
Following a medical examination, doctors reportedly informed the woman that there was no immediate cause for concern regarding her health condition. Soon after receiving the diagnosis, an argument allegedly erupted inside the hospital.
A video of the incident, which has surfaced on social media, purportedly shows the woman kicking and physically assaulting doctors and other medical staff present at the hospital. The footage has drawn widespread attention and renewed discussions on ensuring the safety of healthcare workers.
Doctors’ Association Condemns the Incident
Reacting to the alleged assault, Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, Vice President of AIMSA (2023–26), former office-bearer of the FAIMA Doctors Association, and former President of the All India Students Union (2022–23), strongly condemned the attack through a post on X, calling for strict action against those involved in violence against medical professionals.
Woman Sought Treatment at Another Hospital
Reports stated that after the altercation, the woman left Shreshta Orange Hospital and drove herself to another private hospital in Vanasthalipuram for further medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the hospital’s medical staff lodged a complaint with the LB Nagar Police, following which a case was registered and an investigation was initiated.
Police Investigating Cause of Dispute
According to Hyderabad Mail, police are examining the sequence of events that led to the altercation and said appropriate legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
Speaking to The Siasat Daily, LB Nagar Police revealed that the woman is allegedly a business partner of the hospital owners. “The woman is a business partner of the hospital owners. We are verifying the cause of the fight,” police said.
Authorities are currently investigating whether the incident stemmed solely from the medical consultation or whether there were other underlying factors behind the confrontation. The investigation remains ongoing.
