Family Alleges Negligence After 55-Year-Old Patient’s Death in Kukatpally Hospital

A private hospital in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally has come under scrutiny after the family of a 55-year-old man alleged that medical negligence led to his death following a gallstone surgery.

According to reports, the deceased, a resident of Ramayyapalli village in Peddapalli district, was admitted to the hospital on May 26 for treatment of gallstones. He subsequently underwent a surgical procedure as part of his treatment.

Family members claimed that soon after the surgery, the patient began experiencing severe abdominal pain. They alleged that despite repeatedly informing doctors and hospital staff about his worsening condition, their concerns were ignored.

Doctors Allegedly Dismissed Complaints of Severe Pain

The family further alleged that medical professionals at the hospital treated the pain as a normal post-operative symptom and failed to conduct additional examinations or provide appropriate medical intervention.

According to the relatives, the patient continued to suffer from intense pain in the days following the surgery. His condition reportedly deteriorated before he passed away on Thursday morning.

Police Register Case, Investigation Underway

Following the incident, the patient’s family filed a complaint with the Kukatpally police, accusing the hospital of medical negligence.

Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and that an investigation is currently underway. Authorities stated that all aspects of the allegations will be examined before any conclusions are drawn.

Residents Demand Accountability

The incident has sparked concern among local residents and activists, who have called for a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the patient’s death.

Community members have demanded strict action against the hospital if negligence is established during the investigation. Police have assured the public that a detailed probe will be conducted and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.

Previous Medical Negligence Concerns Highlight Patient Safety Issues

The case has once again raised concerns about patient safety and accountability in private healthcare institutions.

In a separate incident reported earlier, a six-year-old girl died during an eye surgery at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. Following the tragedy, the child’s family staged a protest outside the hospital and demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter. Police officials had stated that the case would first be referred to the Medical Negligence Board for expert opinion before any FIR could be registered.

The latest Hyderabad case is expected to remain under close scrutiny as investigators work to determine whether any lapses in medical care contributed to the patient’s death.
