Gurugram : Three individuals, including two Delhi-based doctors, have been arrested for allegedly duping a fellow doctor of ₹26.57 lakh by falsely promising to help him clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE).
The complainant, Ravi Kumar, who completed his MBBS in 2019 from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, said he met Dr. Abhishek Rajput at Burari Government Hospital in Delhi in 2021. Abhishek, then working at Max Hospital, Ghaziabad, allegedly claimed he could assist Ravi in passing the FMGE, which is mandatory for foreign medical graduates in India.
Ravi said he initially gave ₹2.5 lakh in cash to Abhishek in Gurugram, and was later introduced to Dr. Siddhant and his brother Vastav Chaudhary. Over time, Ravi transferred and paid a total of ₹26.57 lakh.
Despite their assurances, Ravi failed the FMGE in January 2023. When he raised concerns, Abhishek allegedly produced a fake pass certificate. Upon demanding his money back, Ravi received threats and ultimately lodged a police complaint.
An FIR has been filed at Sector 14 Police Station under IPC Sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust), and all three accused have been arrested.
