Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to lay the foundation stone for the new Osmania General Hospital (OGH) building in Goshamahal on January 31. The announcement was made during a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at his residence on Saturday.

Reddy emphasized that the new building, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, should be designed to cater to the healthcare needs of the population for the next 100 years. He instructed officials to ensure the construction is of the highest quality, adhering to all regulations.

Key Features of the New Hospital

  • Road Network: Development of a road network on all four sides of the hospital to facilitate seamless vehicular movement, with provisions for underpasses if required.
  • Parking: Two floors of underground parking for patients, attendants, and helpers.
  • Modern Amenities: Dormitories, fire stations, canteens, toilets, sewage treatment plants (STPs), a mortuary, and body freezing boxes with advanced features.
  • Helipad: Construction of a helipad to accommodate heli-ambulances for emergency medical evacuations.
  • Hostel Facilities: Separate hostel buildings for teaching staff and medical students.

The Chief Minister reviewed multiple architectural models for the hospital and suggested modifications to balance functionality and aesthetics. He emphasized that the structure should include advanced facilities to meet future demands while maintaining a high standard of design.

The state government, under Reddy’s leadership, is focused on transforming the Osmania General Hospital into a modern healthcare hub with facilities that set a benchmark for excellence in medical care and infrastructure.
