Suspected Short Circuit Triggers Blaze Near Mahajanwadi Crossroad
Beed: A doctor couple narrowly escaped injury after their car suddenly caught fire on Sunday morning in Maharashtra’s Beed district. Police confirmed that no casualties were reported, though the vehicle was extensively damaged in the incident.
The incident occurred around 6:15 am near Mahajanwadi crossroad on the Manjarsumba-Patoda road in Beed tehsil. The couple was reportedly travelling towards their farmland when the unexpected emergency unfolded, according to a PTI report.
Quick Response Prevents Tragedy
According to police officials, the couple noticed smoke emanating from the vehicle while driving. Sensing potential danger, they immediately stopped the car and stepped out to ensure their safety.

Vehicle Gutted, Area Sees Brief Panic
Although no injuries were reported, the car suffered extensive damage due to the blaze. The sudden fire caused brief commotion in the area, drawing the attention of nearby residents.
Police said preliminary findings suggest that a short circuit in the vehicle’s wiring may have triggered the fire. A detailed inspection is expected to confirm the exact cause.
Locals Assist in Firefighting Efforts
Local residents, along with the Mahajanwadi sarpanch, rushed to the spot and assisted in efforts to control the flames before authorities arrived. Their swift response helped prevent the fire from spreading further.
The incident comes amid growing concerns over road safety and vehicle-related mishaps.
