District AYUSH Office Forwards Recommendation to Higher Authorities in Raipur
Decision Awaited as Infrastructure and Staffing Requirements Are Being Assessed
A proposal has been put forward to establish an Ayurveda wing at the Civil Hospital in Dharamjaigarh, with the aim of expanding healthcare services and offering patients access to traditional medicine alongside existing allopathic treatment.
Ward No. 4 councillor Dr. Akhtari Khurshit Khan has urged the authorities to introduce Ayurveda-based healthcare facilities within the hospital. The proposal suggests that the wing could be developed under the National AYUSH Mission, the National Urban Health Mission, or with support from the state government.
According to the proposal, integrating Ayurveda services within the government hospital would significantly benefit local residents by providing additional treatment options, especially for chronic illnesses, preventive healthcare, and lifestyle-related disorders. The demand reflects the growing public interest in holistic and traditional medical systems alongside modern healthcare.
The memorandum was submitted during the state government’s Sushasan Tihar programme, which allows citizens to raise developmental and administrative concerns directly with authorities.
Following the submission, the District AYUSH Office reviewed the proposal and forwarded it to the Director of AYUSH in Raipur for further consideration. Officials have reportedly highlighted key requirements such as infrastructure development, staffing, and administrative support needed to operationalise the proposed Ayurveda wing.
Authorities have now sought approval and further instructions from competent departments to move the proposal forward and potentially strengthen integrated healthcare delivery at the Civil Hospital.
