Delhi CM Rekha Gupta to Inaugurate New Healthcare Facility on May 31, 2025
New Delhi: Delhi’s first Ayushman Arogya Mandir is set to begin operations soon, with an official launch scheduled for May 31, 2025. The inauguration will be led by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a special event at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, marking 100 days of the current Delhi government’s tenure.
Formerly a Mohalla Clinic, the facility has undergone a major upgrade and redesign to provide enhanced healthcare services under the new Ayushman Arogya Mandir model.
Expanded Healthcare Services Under One Roof
The revamped centre now boasts in-house diagnostic capabilities offering 14 types of medical tests, with an additional 79 outsourced tests accessible through the facility. The clinic is also integrated with the National Immunisation Programme, enabling routine vaccinations on-site.
Alongside medical services, the centre will hold yoga sessions twice a week—every Monday and Friday—and provide comprehensive family planning support, including pre- and post-pregnancy care.
Improved Accessibility and Staffing
Operating daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the centre will be staffed by a medical officer, nurse, multipurpose health worker, and sanitation worker. Previously limited to basic consultations and minimal onsite services, the upgraded Ayushman Arogya Mandir now consolidates essential healthcare services for the local community in a single location.
Government’s Vision to Expand Healthcare Access
This launch coincides with the unveiling of 33 new healthcare facilities across Delhi, reinforcing the BJP government’s ambitious plan to expand and improve health services citywide. Local residents have welcomed the development, hopeful that the initiative will significantly enhance the accessibility and quality of healthcare in their neighbourhoods.
