Kamareddy: A college dropout who posed as a doctor and treated patients for several years without any valid degree or license has been apprehended by the police.

Accused’s Modus Operandi

The accused, identified as Mulkala Ravinder, was practicing medicine at Star Hospital in Kamareddy district headquarters. He operated using a fake doctor certificate and a forged Aadhaar card under the name “L Ravinder Reddy.” Police revealed that Ravinder had worked in multiple hospitals before joining Star Hospital.

Complaint and Seizure

The arrest followed a complaint filed by Medical Council of India Registrar Dandem Lalayya Kumar. During the investigation, police seized:

  • A fake Aadhaar card
  • Fraudulent doctor certificates
  • A laptop
  • A mobile phone

Claims and Background

Ravinder falsely claimed to have completed his MBBS from Gandhi Medical College. He reportedly downloaded certificates from the Medical Council of India’s website, manipulated the name on them, and presented himself as a qualified doctor.

Hailing from Ramakrishnapur village in Mandamarri mandal of Mancherial district, Ravinder did not even complete his graduation.

Legal Action

The police have registered a case against Ravinder under various sections, including Section 11/2025, U/Sec 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), and 319(2) of BNS.

Further investigations are underway to determine the extent of harm caused by Ravinder’s fraudulent medical practice.
