Gurgaon: To tackle overcrowding and improve patient care, Civil Hospital in Sector 10 will inaugurate a 30-bed surgical ward near its CT-MRI unit by April 30. The move aims to centralise surgical services, streamline patient flow, and reduce wait times.

“It’s a major upgrade in our infrastructure that will help us manage surgical cases more efficiently,” said Dr Lokveer Singh, principal medical officer.

With over 2,000 OPD visits daily and a growing influx of patients from Civil Lines hospital, the new ward is expected to bring much-needed relief to staff and patients alike. Local residents have welcomed the step as a sign of improved public healthcare delivery.

As Gurgaon expands, the development also underscores the urgent need for continued investment in public health infrastructure.
