Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
A former district health officer, a serving taluka health officer, and a Class IV employee of the health department have been booked for allegedly forging documents to frame a government doctor, Dr. Mohsin Khan, as a quack. Their actions led to Khan’s termination from service in April 2023.

Acting on directions from the district and sessions court, Cantonment Police registered a fresh FIR on April 24, 2025. The trio has been booked under IPC Sections 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 471 (using forged document), 420 (cheating), 201 (destruction of evidence), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).

According to police, the accused created forged educational certificates to falsely claim that Khan, who served as the taluka health officer in Sillod, held a bogus medical degree. Based on this, an FIR was registered last year and Khan was dismissed from service.

However, a police probe later confirmed that Khan’s degree from Veer Bahadur Purvanchal University, Jaunpur (UP) was genuine, and the earlier claims linking him to Sai Ayurvedic College, Aligarh, were fabricated.

Khan alleged that the conspiracy was part of a campaign to oust him from his post by a fellow doctor eyeing his position. He also claimed that he was asked for a bribe to avoid frequent transfers and was falsely implicated in a molestation case when he refused to comply.

Though Khan first approached the police in September 2024, no FIR was filed, allegedly due to political pressure. He then moved court, which ordered the police to take action. The investigation later recovered Khan’s original documents from the residence of the former DHO.

“This was a calculated move to destroy my career because I refused to pay a bribe and attempted to expose the corruption,” Khan said. “Today, justice has finally begun to prevail.”
