Chandigarh: In a significant step towards strengthening traditional and integrated healthcare, the upcoming AYUSH hospitals in Sector 34 and Sector 11 of Chandigarh are set to become operational soon. The development is expected to enhance access to alternative medicine systems and expand patient care services in the city.
Final Preparations Underway, Health Secretary Reviews Readiness
Home-cum-Health Secretary Mandip Singh Brar recently conducted a detailed inspection of both hospital sites to assess their preparedness. During the visit, he directed officials to expedite pending work and ensure that all infrastructure and essential services are fully in place for a smooth launch.
Modern Integrated AYUSH Centres with Comprehensive Facilities
According to officials, both hospitals have been developed as advanced integrated AYUSH centres featuring modern infrastructure. The facilities will offer a range of healthcare services, including Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and Panchakarma therapies.
In addition, the hospitals will include outpatient departments (OPDs), diagnostic laboratories, and dedicated pharmacy units. Authorities have also incorporated provisions for integrated healthcare delivery, including basic allopathic dispensing support, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
On-Ground Inspection of Key Hospital Units
During his visit, Brar inspected multiple sections, including treatment rooms, laboratories, pharmacy units, and patient care areas. He also interacted with doctors and healthcare staff to evaluate operational readiness and understand any on-ground challenges.
Officials informed him that staffing arrangements and equipment installations are in the final stages, with services expected to commence soon after receiving formal approvals.
Focus on Quality Care, Cleanliness, and Efficient Management
Emphasizing high standards, Brar instructed departments to ensure cleanliness, efficient hospital management, and quality healthcare delivery. He stressed the need for timely completion of all operational requirements, including manpower deployment, equipment readiness, and coordination among departments.

Authorities confirmed that both hospitals are in the final phase of preparation and are likely to become operational shortly. Once launched, these facilities are expected to significantly improve access to AYUSH-based treatments in Chandigarh, offering residents a wider range of healthcare options under one roof.
