Mumbai – In a major step toward advancing surgical infrastructure, Breach Candy Hospital has inaugurated its new modular operation theatres (OTs), developed in collaboration with Dräger India, a global leader in medical and safety technology.

Installed in the hospital’s new building, the first phase includes three modular OTs, marking a significant transition towards next-generation surgical environments. The move reinforces the hospital’s reputation as one of Mumbai’s premier healthcare institutions, committed to world-class clinical care and patient safety.

The project’s execution was particularly notable as the existing operating complex remained functional throughout construction, demanding strict sterility protocols and operational coordination.

Dräger India’s advanced modular systems bring international-standard design, high-performance infrastructure, and infection control capabilities, improving surgical outcomes and enhancing safety for both patients and medical personnel.

The cutting-edge modular OTs feature:

  • Advanced airflow systems to maintain sterility
  • Ergonomic design to boost surgical team efficiency
  • High-quality, easy-to-clean materials to minimise infection risk
  • Integrated systems that meet global health and safety norms

Hospital authorities have indicated plans to further expand the modular OT infrastructure in the coming years.
