Nurse Accuses BAMS Intern of Molestation, Exploitation and Rs 5 Lakh Dowry Demand; Police Register Case
A shocking case involving allegations of exploitation, molestation, and dowry harassment has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district, where a nurse has accused a BAMS intern and his family of demanding Rs 5 lakh in cash and a Scorpio car on the pretext of marriage. Following the complaint, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to officials at the Civil Lines Police Station, the complainant, a resident of Rampur currently working as a nurse at a hospital in Moradabad’s Civil Lines area, stated that she first met the accused in 2023 when he joined the same hospital as a BAMS intern.
Relationship Allegedly Developed During Internship
As per the complaint, the professional acquaintance gradually turned into a personal relationship after the accused allegedly proposed marriage. The nurse claimed that the accused frequently visited her residence and developed close relations with her while assuring her of marriage.
The complainant alleged that the accused repeatedly molested and exploited her under the false promise of marriage. She further claimed that she trusted the accused’s assurances and continued the relationship believing that the marriage would eventually take place.
Dowry Demand of Cash and Scorpio Car Alleged
According to the complaint, problems began when discussions regarding marriage progressed between the two families. The nurse alleged that the accused and his family started demanding dowry, including Rs 5 lakh in cash and a Scorpio SUV.
She claimed that when her family expressed its inability to fulfill the alleged dowry demands, the accused and his relatives began refusing to proceed with the marriage and subjected her to harassment.
Case Registered Against Accused and Family Members
Based on the allegations, Moradabad Police have registered a case against the BAMS intern, his parents, and five other family members under relevant legal provisions. The case has been lodged at the Civil Lines Police Station.
Police officials stated that the matter is currently under investigation and that statements from both parties will be recorded as part of the inquiry process.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have clarified that all allegations remain under investigation and that further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the course of the probe. Police have assured that a fair and impartial investigation will be conducted before any conclusions are drawn.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding alleged misuse of marriage promises and dowry-related disputes, which continue to be a significant social and legal issue across the country.
