Medical Colleges Urged to Stay Vigilant and Report Fraudulent Calls
New Delhi– The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a warning to medical colleges and stakeholders regarding fraudulent calls being made in the name of the commission. These calls, allegedly from individuals impersonating the NMC chairman or board president, are seeking monetary favours from medical institutions.
NMC’s Official Notification
In its official statement, the NMC clarified that neither the chairman, board presidents, nor any other NMC officials ever seek money through phone calls.
“It has come to the attention of NMC that certain individuals have been making phone calls to medical college authorities impersonating as chairman, MC / president of the Board(s) under NMC, seeking money.”
The commission has urged all medical colleges to remain cautious and refrain from engaging with such impostors.
Instructions for Medical Colleges
✅ Do not fall for fraudulent calls impersonating NMC officials.
✅ Immediately report any such incidents to the police.
✅ File an FIR with details of the caller.
✅ Avoid engaging in any monetary discussions with unknown persons claiming to be from NMC.
“Any individual acting on such communications does so at their own risk,” the statement added.
Call for Legal Action
The NMC has called upon medical colleges and authorities to take immediate legal action against those responsible for these fraudulent calls, ensuring strict measures to curb such scams.
