Assistant Professor and Senior Residents Dismissed Over Assault Allegations
Berhampur-based MKCG Medical College and Hostel has terminated the services of four doctors, including an assistant professor and three senior residents, following an alleged assault on a postgraduate student on December 20. Additionally, a second-year postgraduate resident has been debarred from the hostel for six months, officials announced on Sunday.

- Aryan Kumar Mohanty and Chinmay Pradhan, Senior Residents in the Pediatric Department
- Yashwant Veera, Senior Resident in General Surgery

- Priyajeet Sahoo, Second-Year Postgraduate Resident in Orthopedics
The disciplinary actions were decided during the college council meeting on December 23 and implemented under the directive of the Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), said Suchitra Dash, Dean and Principal of MKCG Medical College.
Incident and Investigation
The incident occurred on December 20 at approximately 12:30 am on the hostel premises, where a postgraduate student alleged physical assault by senior colleagues. The victim lodged an FIR at Baidyanathpur police station, prompting a police investigation into the matter.
