Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is set to launch four physiotherapy centres to provide affordable treatment for disabled individuals and senior citizens aged 60 and above. These centres will be operational soon, offering a range of physiotherapy services at minimal rates. As per the instructions of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, the physiotherapy centres will be located at Indira Gandhi Hospital, Gandhinagar; Pachpaoli Maternity Home; Sadar Diagnostic Center; and Mahal Diagnostic Center. These facilities are expected to significantly benefit the elderly and disabled citizens by offering essential services at a lower cost.
The initiative is being led by Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, and Additional Commissioner (City) Smt. Anchal Goyal Sood. They aim to make physiotherapy accessible to as many citizens as possible. Dr. Chaudhary highlighted that the centres would be a boon for the general public, while Smt. Goyal Sood urged citizens to take full advantage of the services. Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar explained that physiotherapy is a scientifically-backed healthcare service designed to help individuals improve mobility and function. This service will assist not only disabled and elderly individuals but also pregnant women and patients with serious health conditions in regaining physical strength and functionality.
