Chandigarh has expanded its public healthcare infrastructure with the inauguration of an AYUSH Integrated Hospital in Sector 34 and a new AYUSH Dispensary in Sector 11. The newly launched facilities are expected to improve access to integrated healthcare by offering multiple systems of medicine under one roof.
Governor Inaugurates New AYUSH Facilities
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated both healthcare facilities on Tuesday. Speaking at the event, he said the AYUSH Integrated Hospital and the new dispensary would enhance the availability of comprehensive healthcare services for residents of Chandigarh.
He added that the initiative would promote an integrated approach to treatment by bringing together different systems of medicine within the public healthcare system.
Integrated Hospital to Offer Multiple Healthcare Services
The AYUSH Integrated Hospital in Sector 34 provides Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, and Allopathy services on a single campus. The 25-bed hospital will remain operational daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
According to the administration, patients will receive Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic, and Allopathic medicines free of cost. Besides consultation and treatment, the hospital will also offer Ayurvedic Panchakarma therapy as part of its healthcare services.
Focus on Preventive Healthcare and Traditional Medicine
During the inauguration, Shri Kataria encouraged people to incorporate Ayurveda into their daily lives, stating that traditional healthcare practices, combined with healthy lifestyle habits, can contribute to overall well-being.
He also emphasised the importance of practising yoga and pranayama regularly, describing both as essential components of a healthy lifestyle.
Long-Pending Demand Fulfilled
Shri Kataria said the establishment of an AYUSH hospital in Sector 34 had been a long-pending demand of the city.
With the inauguration of the AYUSH Integrated Hospital and the AYUSH Dispensary in Sector 11, he said the Chandigarh Administration has fulfilled this demand and dedicated both healthcare facilities to the people of Chandigarh.
