Medical colleges must use DigiLocker-NAD, says NMC

New Delhi : National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued direction to all medical colleges to register and upload academic certificate data to DigiLocker-NAD in accordance with the D.O. letter issued from Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. NMC’s official notification reads, “It is requested to all medical institutions to comply with the instructions contained in the said D.O. letter and to register and upload their 10 years academic certificate data (Degree, Marksheet, Admit Card, Score Card etc.) through DigiLocker-NAD (https://nad.digilocker.gov.in) at the earliest.”

The D.O. letter says, “The digital copy available in the DigiLocker will be treated at par with the original physical document as per Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation and Retention) by Intermediary providing DigiLocker facilities Rule 2016. Besides, the ministry of education has assigned the National Academic Depository (NAD) implementation via DigiLocker to facilitate students to get authentic educational documents in digital format directly from their original issues.”
