Kalahandi: In a tragic road accident, a well-known retired doctor, Dr Harischandra Padhan (80), lost his life after his car collided with a parked truck in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
According to reports, the incident occurred while Dr Padhan was travelling from Bhawanipatna to Dharmagarh. His vehicle rammed into a stationary truck near Baldiamal under the jurisdiction of Junagarh police station.
Fatal Collision on National Highway 26
The accident took place on National Highway 26 near a petrol pump at Baldiamal. The impact of the crash was severe, leading to Dr Padhan’s death on the spot.
Locals rushed to the scene immediately and shifted him to a nearby hospital in Junagarh, where doctors declared him brought dead. The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.
