Mohali: In a tragic hit-and-run incident, Dr. Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Sector 71, Mohali, lost his life after being struck by a speeding car near Doon School in Sector 69 on Friday evening. The driver fled the scene immediately, prompting police to register a case and initiate a search operation.
Accident Details
The incident occurred around 8 pm when Dr. Singh was riding his motorcycle from his home toward Sector 79. His brother was following him on a separate motorcycle. According to reports, a speeding Alto car hit Dr. Singh from behind near Doon School, causing critical injuries.
Medical Attention and Death
Dr. Singh was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. Authorities confirmed that the driver fled immediately after the collision, leaving the victim critically injured.
Police Investigation
Police officials are currently scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify both the vehicle and the absconding driver. The post-mortem has been completed, and the body has been handed over to the family.
