Hyderabad : In a move aimed at revolutionizing hypertension management in India, KIMS-Sunshine Hospital has partnered with global medical technology leader Medtronic to launch a specialised renal denervation therapy centre.
The collaboration seeks to address cases of resistant and uncontrolled hypertension, offering patients access to advanced treatment options. The centre will also serve as a hub for training medical professionals and raising public awareness about renal denervation — a minimally invasive procedure targeting overactive nerves in the kidneys that contribute to high blood pressure.
Speaking on the initiative, Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director & Vice President of Medtronic India, said: “Our partnership with KIMS-Sunshine Hospital empowers medical professionals with advanced training and raises awareness about renal denervation therapy. We aim to improve patient care by providing effective solutions for managing resistant and uncontrolled hypertension.”
The centre will conduct skill development workshops and clinical training sessions for healthcare providers. Simultaneously, public-facing programs will be launched to educate patients and caregivers, enabling informed decision-making regarding hypertension care.
Dr. B Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Group of Hospitals, emphasized the long-term vision of the collaboration: “Our strategic collaboration with Medtronic represents a transformative step toward broadening access to advanced, evidence-based therapies like renal denervation. Together, we are not just addressing a medical condition; we are shaping the future of hypertension management by attempting to set a new standard in precision care and patient outcomes.”
The initiative marks a significant stride in bridging clinical expertise with technological innovation to tackle one of India’s most prevalent chronic health challenges.
