Ludhiana: A 67-year-old Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) was attacked inside his private clinic in Lakshmi Nagar by two assailants posing as patients. The victim alleged that the attack was linked to a property dispute involving his wife, daughter, and a relative.

Attack Inside Clinic

The incident occurred on January 30 when the doctor returned to his clinic after lunch. He found two unknown men waiting inside, pretending to be patients. After administering an injection to one of them, he turned to prepare medication. At that moment, the assailants restrained and assaulted him.

The attackers also threatened him, demanding he withdraw a court case related to the family dispute.

Investigation Underway

Following the attack, the doctor was rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for treatment. In his complaint, he alleged that his wife and daughter orchestrated the attack to pressure him into dropping the case.

  • Section 115(2): Voluntarily causing hurt
  • Section 126(2): Wrongful restraint
