Women delivers after two hours after the fetus was declared dead

Alomora: A pregnant woman was referred to another hospital by the local government hospital after declaring that the fetus has died in the womb and has to be removed by surgery. But after few hours the woman and her relatives were pleasantly surprise when the woman gave birth to a healthy boy in the ambulance on the way to another hospital.

The family members of the woman alleged that the staff of Chaukhutia hospital was negligent for not performing their duty and referring the woman to Ranikhet for surgery. On the other hand Dr. Amit Ratan, In-charge of the community health center at Chaukhutia said that when the woman reached the hospital the legs of the fetus had partly come out of the womb and were completely blue. The doctor on duty did not find the heartbeat of the fetus and hence the woman was referred to a tertiary center for surgery. Dr. Ratan further added that the doctor on duty expressed that there was possibility of the fetus being dead but had not confirmed it.
