
Hyderabad: In a major boost for postgraduate medical education in Telangana, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has approved Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses at TGSRTC Tarnaka Hospital, allocating a total of seven PG seats across three departments.
Approved Departments and Seats
Following a formal application by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), NBEMS has sanctioned:
- 3 seats in General Medicine
- 2 seats in General Surgery
- 2 seats in Orthopaedic Surgery
Admissions to the 3-year PG DNB courses will be based on NEET PG scores, while DNB-PDCET will govern admissions to the 2-year diploma programs starting from the upcoming academic year.
Improved Healthcare for RTC Staff
TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar welcomed the approval, stating it would help attract top medical professionals and significantly improve healthcare services for RTC employees. He said that Tarnaka Hospital is being upgraded into a super-specialty center, aligning with the corporation’s broader goal to offer comprehensive health services to staff.

The TGSRTC management congratulated the team instrumental in securing the DNB approval. Those felicitated included:
- Medical Administrator Dr. Srinivas
- Former OSD Dr. Saidi Reddy
- Dr. Sushmita, Dr. Pramod Kumar, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, and Dr. Raj Kumar
They were honored in a ceremony held at Hyderabad Bus Bhavan on Monday, with top RTC officials in attendance.
