Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has issued notices to Rush Care Hospital in LB Nagar over allegations of promoting unqualified and fake doctors. This action follows reports circulating on social media that the hospital sponsored the 18th annual meeting of the Sushruta Rural Medical Association in Nalgonda district on December 24, where fake doctors were allegedly endorsed.

On January 3, TGMC Chairman Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Registrar Dr. Lalayya issued notices to the hospital’s management and medical superintendent, demanding a response within 10 days. Failure to respond could result in strict action under National Medical Commission (NMC) and TGMC regulations, as determined by the ethics committee.

Unethical Practices in Healthcare

TGMC Vice Chairman Dr. G Srinivas condemned the promotion of unqualified practitioners, such as registered medical practitioners (RMP) or privately managed practitioners (PMP). He described these practices as unethical and warned that hospitals hiring agents to promote fake doctors for marketing purposes would face serious consequences.

Public Safety Concerns

The TGMC also issued a public advisory, cautioning individuals about the risks of consulting fake doctors in both rural and urban areas. Patients were urged to verify the qualifications of healthcare providers to ensure they receive proper treatment.

This crackdown highlights the growing concern over unqualified practitioners in the healthcare system and underscores the TGMC’s commitment to enforcing ethical medical practices in Telangana.
