Hubballi: In a tragic incident, a senior doctor at Shri Sai Hospital in Talikote town was found dead on Monday in what police suspect to be a case of suicide. The deceased has been identified as Dr. Rajashekhar Muchandi, 62, a well-known physician in the area.
Found Dead in Hospital Room
According to hospital sources, Dr. Muchandi had reported for duty in the morning and had attended to a few outpatients.
“He later went to his room, but did not return for a long time. When staff went to check, they found he had taken his own life,” a hospital staff member said.
The incident was immediately reported to the authorities.
Police Investigation Underway
Talikote police visited the hospital soon after receiving the alert and began preliminary investigations.
They have registered a case, though the exact cause of the suicide remains unknown. Authorities have not yet recovered any suicide note.
Shock in the Medical Community
The sudden death of Dr. Muchandi has left the local medical community and residents in shock. Colleagues described him as a dedicated and compassionate physician, who had been serving the region for years.
