
Sudden collapse during morning workout; colleagues and patients mourn untimely demise

In a tragic incident, Dr Anwar Sadath, a highly respected Indian-origin orthopaedic surgeon based in Dubai, passed away suddenly on Friday at the age of 49. He reportedly collapsed during his routine morning workout after experiencing discomfort and could not be revived despite prompt medical attention.
Dr Sadath was associated with Medcare Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital and had also worked under the Aster DM Healthcare group. With over 18 years of experience in the field, he was known for his expertise in treating sports injuries, trauma surgeries, and complex fractures.
A native of Kerala, India, Dr Sadath is survived by his wife and three children, as reported by The Siasat Daily. He completed his medical education at Thrissur Medical College and earned an MS in Orthopaedics from SS Medical College, India. His early career included stints at several prominent Kerala hospitals, such as West Fort Hospital, Daya Hospital, Divine Hospital, Medical Trust Hospital, and Jubilee Mission Hospital.

The news of his untimely passing has left patients, colleagues, and well-wishers in deep shock. Many took to social media to mourn his death and remember his compassionate nature.
One of his long-time patients, Indian international handball player Vipin Kumar, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram.
“Grateful beyond words to Dr Anwar Sadath — one of the trusted hands who guided me through my recovery ahead of the World Masters Games,” Vipin wrote.
He added, “Over the years, I’ve relied on him through various injuries — each time, his clarity and compassion stood out. Thank you, doctor, for care that healed beyond medicine.”
Dr Sadath was a member of both the Kerala Orthopaedics Association and the Indian Orthopaedics Association. His specialised work included knee arthroscopies, ACL/PCL reconstructions, and shoulder arthroscopies for rotator cuff injuries and instabilities.
His sudden passing is being deeply felt across the medical community in Dubai and among patients who trusted him for years. He is remembered not only as a skilled surgeon but also as a kind, humble, and compassionate healer.
