Doctor Among Three Newly Chargesheeted in Alleged Al-Qaeda-Linked Terror Module; NIA Continues Probe into Red Fort Blast Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against three more accused, including an absconding paediatrician, in connection with the Red Fort car bomb blast case. With the latest filing, the total number of accused in the investigation has risen to 13.

According to official findings cited in news reports, all three newly chargesheeted individuals are residents of Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA has alleged that they played key roles in an alleged terror module linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), an offshoot of al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).

Absconding Paediatrician Allegedly Played Key Role in Terror Network

According to the supplementary chargesheet, the absconding paediatrician was allegedly a founding member of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Investigators claim that he attended a crucial meeting held in Srinagar in 2022, where the formation and operational coordination of the terror network was discussed.

The agency has further alleged that the doctor was involved in the manufacture, testing, and storage of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at a facility allegedly operated by key conspirators at Al-Falah University in Faridabad. A non-bailable warrant has been issued against the accused doctor.

Two Other Accused Allegedly Supplied Arms and Logistics

The NIA has also chargesheeted two other accused in the case.

According to the agency, one of them allegedly worked as an overground worker for Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind and served as a courier for arms and cash used by the terror module.

The third accused, who was allegedly a former overground worker of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has been accused of procuring and supplying weapons to the module. As per the NIA, he arranged an AK-47 rifle, a Krinkov rifle, a pistol, magazines, and ammunition through a handler and allegedly delivered the consignment for ₹3 lakh.

Multi-Agency Investigation Continues

The car bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort last year triggered a multi-agency investigation into an alleged terror module operating across multiple states.

Earlier, Medical Dialogues had reported that during the NIA’s investigation into the November 10 car blast near the Red Fort—which reportedly claimed 15 lives and injured several others—the agency alleged that five arrested doctors had collectively raised ₹26 lakh to finance the bombing operation.

According to a PTI report, the NIA has established links between the accused through multidisciplinary investigations, including forensic examinations, geo-location mapping of conspiracy sites, and detailed financial trail analysis. The agency stated that the investigation remains ongoing to identify the full extent of the alleged conspiracy and the involvement of other individuals.
