Doctor Prevented From Entering Hospital
New Delhi: A shocking incident unfolded outside Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, where a doctor rushing to treat victims of the Red Fort car blast was allegedly blocked by media personnel seeking “exclusive bytes.” A viral video shows the doctor pleading with reporters and cameramen to allow him entry to attend to critically injured patients.
Social Media Outrage Over Media Conduct
The video has sparked widespread criticism, with social media users condemning the media for prioritising TRP over human lives. One user commented, “Indian media is ruining their image day by day,” while another called for stricter accountability, saying, “They cannot do what they want.” Doctors also expressed frustration over the lack of ethics and obstruction faced while trying to save lives.
Doctors Working Round the Clock
Since the Red Fort attack, more than 50 doctors at LNJP Hospital have been working non-stop to treat the injured. Hospital officials confirmed that around 25 patients remain under care, with none shifted elsewhere. The 70-bed disaster ward was immediately activated for the emergency.
Severe Injuries and Life-Saving Procedures
Doctors have been treating complex injuries, including amputations, crush injuries, shrapnel wounds, broken bones, ruptured eardrums, and pneumothorax caused by the blast’s shockwaves. At least four victims suffered collapsed lungs treated with intercostal drainage tubes, and several patients reportedly lost limbs.
Doctors’ Dedication Amid Chaos
Despite being surrounded and obstructed, medical staff continued their critical work without pause, highlighting the relentless efforts of frontline doctors in life-threatening emergencies. The incident underscores both the heroism of healthcare professionals and the challenges posed by unregulated media interference during crises.
