Mangalagiri: President Droupadi Murmu highlighted the significance of young doctors serving rural and tribal communities while addressing the first convocation of AIIMS Mangalagiri in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. As the chief guest, she awarded degrees to the inaugural batch of 49 MBBS graduates.

President Murmu received a warm welcome upon her arrival at Gannavaram airport, where she was greeted by Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and other dignitaries.

Commending the graduates for their dedication to the medical profession, President Murmu said, “By choosing to become doctors, you have taken on the noble responsibility of serving humanity. You now hold the invaluable opportunity to save lives and improve health outcomes. I urge young doctors to prioritize serving in rural, tribal, and remote areas to contribute to inclusive healthcare. Your sincerity and dedication at this stage are critical for the nation’s health development.”

CM Naidu Pledges Support for AIIMS Expansion

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu assured full support for the growth of AIIMS Mangalagiri, envisioning it as a leading medical institution in India. “Our government is committed to developing state-of-the-art facilities at AIIMS. To support its expansion, we are allocating an additional 10 acres of land,” he announced.

The event, attended by Ministers Lokesh and Satyakumar, marked a significant milestone for the region’s healthcare advancement.
